At a stage in his life and legendary career where he could easily kick back, relax and rest on his laurels, you likely won't hear the words "retirement" or "slowing down" escape the lips of Oscar de la Renta any time soon.
"I think that every day for me is a learning process," said the 77-year-old designer in an interview at a downtown hotel Wednesday, looking relaxed in a tailored navy suit as he sat on a lush velvet sofa.

The Council of Fashion Designers of America (CFDA) Fashion Awards are known as the Oscars of the fashion world, and today the nominees and honorees of the 2010 ceremony were announced at president Diane von Furstenberg’s downtown New York store and studio. The winners will be announced on June 7 at the Lincoln Center, and the show will not only include the industry favorites as winners, but also an award for popular vote among the public.

After winning a Razzie award for "Worst Actress", Sandra Bullock patiently waited until this past Sunday, when she could rejoice as the reigning "Best Actress" as well. Bullock beat out several other fine actresses including 15-time nominee Meryl Streep, to win the award for her role in "The Blind Side".
There was something unsettling when Tom Hanks hurriedly announced the Oscar winner for Best Picture at Sunday’s show.Maybe it was because the buildup for Best Picture was unevenly spread throughout the show, with 10 people introducing the 10 nominated films at random times.
